How do I even begin to describe Kooky Pam's Pastries? Biting into that soft and chewy cookie was...surreal.
Before I go on a steamy description of how in love I fell with Kooky Pam's, as with all love stories, I have to start first with how our paths crossed. I was browsing the IG page of one of my favorite food blogs, Pepper.ph, and my eyes fell unto this picture of several huge cookies with an interesting name. I checked the account and I got even more interested. At first glance, the cookies looked nothing remarkable--absolutely plain-looking on the outside. The only thing I found remotely different is that the cookies looked huge. But I was still interested. I had to pursue it.

I saw that they have a blogger site and so I visited it and stared at the pictures for a good minute or two before I decided that I have to try them and see if they are as good as the pictures looked.
I made up my mind, sent a text to Ms. Pam, and next thing I know, they were on their way to deliver the cookies to me at work. I wanted to meet Ms. Pam (Yes! Sometimes (?), they deliver the orders themselves so that's awesome!) but unfortunately, I had a meeting when they arrived and so I had to send the ever loyal boyfriend (Hi, Borgy, love!) to meet Ms. Pam and receive the order.

When I got to the box, I wasn't planning on trying the cookies out immediately because I had a big lunch. But then, Borgy, wanted to try the Red Velvet Cookie and so he did. When he took that first bite, I saw something shift in his eyes. His entire facial expression change from that of curiosity to that of...primal hunger and gluttony. That dazed look in his widening eyes and an almost-robotic movement to his chewing only means one thing: he was tasting heaven and no one should bother him until he's had enough. :p
And so I just had to taste it.
And it was mind blowing.
I was in love with a cookie.

The cookie is like a brownie squished flat to a thinness and a bit crispy on the outside. It was soft and almost fudge-like inside and will fall apart pretty easily but that wasn't a problem for me, I had no trouble popping them in my mouth and devouring them faster than they break. The taste surprised me. I love red velvet pastries and I've had my fair share of them. But I have never tasted anything so...premium. It was nothing I've ever tasted before. The taste of cream cheese exploded in my mouth and put me in a frenzy. It was like a dream.
The Dark Belgian Choco Chip is what I I'd like to call, the "casual cookie". No, I'm not saying it tastes like any normal cookie but, it tasted so sentimental. That's the only way I can describe it. It tastes a lot like our well-loved champorado (chocolate rice porridge). Its taste is reminiscent of childhood memories--watching cartoons all day; of cozy rainy seasons, and of nostalgic breakfasts at home. I can casually read a book while munching on these goodies and I would be blissfully happy and content and say I'm living my happy ever after. :")
