Creativity Dipped in Chocolate: Eat Dessert First PH

One of the best ways to get around the hashtags is through the shout-out for shout-outs (SFS). This is how I discovered the wonderful Eat Desserts First (by Ms. Michiko). The shop's Instagram account is pretty straightforward and so lusciously enticing--from pictures of her Yema cupcakes to pictures of her well-loved Smores cookies. It took a lot of self-control to stop myself from buying everything on the menu. So, I decided to try out the Smores Cookies, which was her bestseller, and the Cinnamon Cupcakes--just because I love cinnamon.

My transaction with her was hassle-free. She replies to the inquiries as soon as she can and--the most amazing trait I'm looking for in a seller--she talks to her customers very nicely and without any hint of impatience and snootiness. These are the best kind of sellers. :) So I had my order and picked them up on a schedule.

The packaging of my orders were very neatly and simply done. This is one of the perks of having your orders picked up instead of being delivered (via courier). You can meet the seller and since the seller will be the one to give the orders, you can be assured they will be handed over to you with utmost care.

First thing I noticed about the cookies and the cupcakes: when I opened their containers, the smell was delightfully appealing. I first tried the Smores cookies: not too sweet, absolutely chewy, and lived up to its name. As you can see from the picture below, everything is there: the melted chocolate, the bits of graham crackers, and at the top of the cookie are marshmallows squished and melted to perfection. It's highly addictive and will make you reach for more.

The cinnamon cupcake will not disappoint. When Ms. Michiko says it's cinnamon, then rest assured it'll be cinnamon all over. :) From the cupcake itself to the sweet cream cheese frosting dusted with cinnamon, it was positively alive with spice and flavor. I was surprised with it, actually. It's not much of a cake but more of a bread. Makes sense since she fashioned this out of her love for cinnamon rolls. It would be nice to find out what it'll taste like if it would have the consistency of a cake instead of a bread.

Other items from the menu include her banoffee ice cream pie, cookie dough ice cream pie, cheesecake cookies, banana chocolate chip, and yema cupcake. I was dying to try the cookie dough ice cream pie. It's made with a graham crust and her homemade cookie dough ice cream topped with peaches. Talk about creativity, huh? This shop is definitely one of my few favorites. The baker is not afraid to take risks when it comes to flavors--a true visionary gem in the world of sweets.
