Was it odd he loved this place so much? He knew not many six-year olds go here for fun, but it's quiet and it smells of chocolate and his dad's coffee. ☕ Certainly the adults don't mind, if the small smiles they gave him are any indication.
He sat, one of his legs dangling from the cushiony chair, and the other tucked underneath him. His dark wavy fringe fell over his thick-rimmed glasses as he hunched over a big book with glossy pages. One page, in particular, was entirely covered with a picture of a planet with rings that seemed to glow. The planet was surrounded with dots of white, and gray against black. He gazed at the picture, staring at the planet's rings and then to the moons and the stars--his eyes twinkling with fascination. On the next page was an outline of information about the planet Saturn. He read carefully and dutifully. His tiny lips silently moving as he read, repeating to himself the few words he was unfamiliar with.
He looked up from his book, dazed. His small hands reached over the table and grabbed the tall glass of chocolate milkshake his sister bought for him, and he sipped happily. He looked out the window. 🌖⭐🌠 There were no stars, but he saw the moon. The moon is waxing, he thought, remembering reading that term from his book.
He sighed. Someday, he thought to himself, he will take trips to the moon and gaze back at Earth while being surrounded with stars. 🚀🌌 And he will be sipping chocolate milkshake while he's at it. 🍫
