Harry stared at the headmaster's chair. A year ago, a phoenix with intelligent eyes perched on it. Now, it looks bare. Around them portraits hung, their occupants peering down at Harry, Ron, and Hermione, some bored, but most are curious, wondering what brought the three students back to this office.
Finally, McGonagall appeared from the shadows clutching a battered old parchment, blank and fraying at the edges. She looked at the three seniors with exasperation. "If I ever see this map again, I will burn it. I do not care who owns it,"--at this she directed a stern glance at a flushed Harry--"this map is an invasion of privacy and dangerous in the wrong hands. Do you understand?" Harry, Ron, and Hermione nodded solemnly. Finally, the headmistress handed them the Marauder's Map and signalled them to leave.
As they were walking out of the office, Harry and Hermione looked up and spied the portrait of Albus Dumbledore. Dumbledore gave Harry a nod and a knowing smile. Harry smiled in return. Hermione, however, noted the sad gleam in her best friend's eyes.

- Headmaster's Office Candle by Frostbeard Studio (@frostbeardmpls) - I have always imagined the headmaster's office to smell of old books and wood. Frostbeard Studio's version, however, was a pleasant surprise! 💕 It smells of sherbet lemon and cedarwood vanilla, which made it distinctly Dumbledore. 💗 I have found myself wonderfully relaxed as the scent filled my room with memories.
